TENIOS Browser Phone Extension: How to make phone calls in Chrome

Browser Phone Blog

12.01.2022 |
Making phone calls directly from the browser? The TENIOS Browser Phone Extension makes your VoIP telephony easier than ever.

The Chrome extension can be added to your navigation bar and is ready to use in just a few steps.

Browser telephony easier than ever

With a browser phone, calls can be initiated and received in the same way as with a classic telephone. The difference to the softphone – a software that allows making calls via the PC – is that it can be used directly via the browser: The TENIOS Browser Phone extension can be integrated into Chrome via the Chrome Web Store and pinned to the navigation bar.

Go to Chrome Web Store

The Browser Phone extension recognizes phone numbers on web pages and allows you to call them directly with just one click. Alternatively, phone numbers can also be entered or entered via the dialpad. The audio transmission is done via microphone and speaker. Microphone access must therefore be enabled by the user the first time it is used.

How is the TENIOS Browser Phone Extension set up?

The setup is done in just a few steps. After adding the extension via the Chrome Web Store, follow the microphone access instructions and log in to your Cloud PBX account to link the Browser Phone. Use of the TENIOS Cloud PBX is a requirement for using the TENIOS Browser Phone Extension. For step-by-step instructions, please visit our documentation page.

3 Reasons to use TENIOS Browser Phone Extension

#1 No more open tabs and constant logins:
Once logged into the portal, your Browser Phone remains active. Even when you close the Cloud-PBX portal. You can access your phone at any time via the phone icon in your navigation bar.

#2 Always keep an overview:
An audio signal informs you about incoming calls, as well as a pop-up window that allows you to answer the call directly.

#3 Easy handling and useful features:
The operation of the TENIOS Browser Phone is simple and intuitive thanks to the easy-to-use user interface. For even more convenience and time saving, the Chrome extension has a click-to-dial feature.

The advantages of the TENIOS Browser Phone Extension at a glance:
  • free use
  • easy integration
  • intuitive user interface
  • clear dialpad
  • pop-up function
  • click-to-dial function
